Tilt Steering Wheel not rising...
Hi,
Long story short. Hooked up a Snap On Solus to the OBD2 w/ the wrong adapter.
Screwed up my instrument cluster.
I have IDS and reflashed the Instrument Cluster.
Could not finish the flash because I didn't get the code from the rear boot panel, but it resolved the original instrument cluster issue and it started responding nominally.
Fast forward.
Tried raising the steering wheel - no response from button. Hooked up to IDS, saw an "axis" error code. It was a "B" code.
When I left the switch in "auto" it lowered the column all the way down and when the car started the wheel would not return to the upward position.
The steering column moves in, out and down normally - a short pulse upward if the steering wheel is bottomed out but nothing further.
Thought it was the tilt pointometer motor. Replaced with another, no change.
Swapped out the tilt hall sensor that sits below the column. No change.
When the hall sensor was disconnected the wheel raised.
Steering wheel will bottom out, but will get a short burst when the button is selected up and that is all - no further movement.
Button "up" working as shown via IDS.
Left the hall sensor disconnected so I can leave the wheel high up and not have it go down - not ideal but better than having the tilt bottom out again.
Now, I have short bursts up, down, in and out.
Any suggestions where to look next?
Steering wheel Module?
Motor??
I did get the 11 digit code from the top of the steering column so I can attempt another reflash of the instrument cluster.
Thanks.

the cluster is the steering column control module every switch input goes through it.
the pedal adjuster inputs to the FEM only
driver’s door module goes over SCP to both when you hit the memory button open the door etc

Could that be the cause of my woes?
I have to reopen IDS, pull up the previous session and extract the axis code and see what IDS says to look at.
Thanks
Reflashed the instrument pack as "new" and performed a steering column calibration via IDS.
All is well now.
I did pull the 3 B codes - all pointing to the axis on the column.
After reflash and calibration they all went away!
Please mark as resolved.
