Default Tiny 'pits' in my paintwork?

Suddenly, out of nowhere I have tiny 'pits' scattered in the paint on my bonnet (Hood)? They appear to be tiny 'holes' right down through the clear coat and the colour? See attached pic.

Any ideas, please?

Things like that are normally caused by stone impact. The white will be the primer coat. Where do you park the car ? Reason for asking is birds can drop things like shells and so on and these will produce the same kind of damage

Thank you for your prompt reply.

My car is parked in a basement car park under my Apartment building and always has a cover over it to keep the constant Dubai dust off of it?

This seems to have come out of nowhere?

My apologies, Guys & Gals (and particularly to Fraser), but I overreacted (and not for the first time)!

I was so knocked back that my beautiful 'Radiance Mica' (metallic maroon) Jaguar had this apparent 'cancer' on its bonnet. Anyway, I have been back down there (again and near midnight) and gently rubbed the offences with some T-Cut and (whatever they are) they now appear to be on the surface of the paint!

I was convinced that my fingernail was digging down into a pit in the paintwork?

When I was a teenager in the early 70's a buddy of mine's attractive divorced mother remarried a rich man who allowed his new stepson (my buddy) to drive his 4.2 litre Sovereign in the car park of the swanky apartments where they lived. Those triple carbs could help that straight six to silently propel that car from a standing start to ridiculous speeds before we had to slam on the brakes to avoid crashing into the fences!

It was Jaguar Maroon and that is what colour these cars are supposed to be!!

So, in other words, please ignore my post and answer some more deserving posts!!

No apologies needed ! These cars are so achingly beautiful, it must be awful when something appears not right.

Who wants to run a double decker bus for Heavens sake ! (aka SUV)
