Hi, i have a xj 2009. my car Does not have touch screen, and I want to change it. If I get the touchscreen, do I have to make some modification or simply buy the touch screen, put out the old one and install the new one?

It is quite involved modification. You need nav unit in the trunk. The touch screen does not work without the nav unit. You also need to pipe new wiring and change the climate control module.

There are threads about this mod on the forum, search around.

IMO you are better off replacing the radio with an after-market unit with touch screen and other bells & whistles.

 

Agree with Ven. You're fortunate to but be saddled with the touchscreen unit. Your options are limitless for aftermarket equipment!
