You were very unlucky,usually there are no problems with used parts also these days

the sellers gaurantee them working however you are now 'good to go'.

Yes i count my blessings! I was hoping it was just the actuator and not something else! Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Now im off to replace my blower control module!

Have fun ! Actually it is not all that bad a job, although the modules are a bit expensive. Newer ones have longer fins so should last a bit longer.

If there is total silence, it is not uncommon for one of the wires to break in the wiring within the visible corrugated trunking at top right of the trunk aperture. However, I doubt if this is caused by your loading up the trunk.
I have noise in mine when I hit the button, like it wants to release.... But then silence... Thoughts?

probably your actuator is going.
