Default Tuning 04/05 Jaguar XJR

Hello Everyone. I have a 2005 Jaguar XJR.I am considering tuning it just to get bit more of a bump. I would like to ask if anyone owns a Jaguar XJR tuned. And there expierance.

I have heard the 04-05 had a different computer system than the 06+. They can be hard to tune.

Look forward to your comments.

I don't have a xjr but I have heard of a pulley upgrade kit that bumps power by like 10%

As I understand it, a reflash of a 04/05 requires physical access to the car (e.g., versus using a flash tool via the OBDII port). In discussions with Paramount Performance they stated their dealer network could handle it, but I don't believe they have a dealer near me so did not pursue it.

I have a 04 XJ8 and the ECU needed to be removed to have the ECU flashed was an expensive job but that was around 2013 when I did it
