Tyre life
This week, after the LH rear tyre had deflated to about 10 psi for the second time in a few weeks, I finally took the car to a tyre shop where they found a puncture. This was really small caused by a very small wood pin or similar. It was barely long enough to go through so the hole was very small hence the slow deflation.
Anyway, it was repaired with a patch, and I went on my way. However, it got me thinking on tyre life. The Pirellis on the front were put on at 45k miles in 2011, and the car is now on 75k, so they have done 30k miles yet still have plenty of life left in them and there is no uneven wear at all.
So I am well pleased with tyre life on these cars, and would ask people if my experience is typical. OK, it's a 3 litre V6, not a V8 or XJR which smokes tyres !

Fraser,
You're doing better than me. I've also got the V6 and get around 30-35k. I've been through two whole sets now (@ £850/set
) and usually swap front to back after 15k as the fronts normally show a little more wear on the inside edge. Much better than some of my front wheel drive cars though where less than 10k was not unusual.
Julian.
