you would have to swap out the entire fender.. There is a thread on here somewhere about a guy in England that did it as well as the new bumpers.

 

...I was thinking about doing the same thing. I went to a dealer and looked at the 08 XJ8 and the XKR side vents. It looks doable but did not the have the chance to look at the part. Gotta get the part to make sure. I believe someone did that to their X-type. However, the original fenders has indentations for the vents. Gotta work around that.

Also, there was a site that was selling the vents which attaches with 3m tape. Unless you get the part in your hand, you will never know.
