Where can I get a valet key for a 2007 XJ8 VDP? I have both key fobs, probably will never use the Valet key, but if not too expensive would be nice to have.

 

When I was looking for a spare key, as my earlier X350 only came with one fob and that was it, I just ordered a spare from my dealer , at the time they asked if I wanted a full key or a valet one, it was about 7 years ago but I think it might have been about £25 at the time.
Never ever needed it but at least I had a spare.
Traded the car last week for a Super V8 in the same colour, well pleased.

 

2006 X350... Dealer will only sell me 2 keys/keyfob and and for 750.00 US. Any ideas on where I can get this done cheaper. I know we pay a premium but...

 

Ebay has them for about $50.

There's a link in the How To post at the top of this forum that explains everything about the keys & fobs, including how to program the key/fob yourself.

 

You can buy a blank valet key p/n C2C2900 should be about $52 or so.

A locksmith who knows Ford Tibbe keys will be able to cut it using one of your other keys as a template.

They should also be able to clone the chip in your existing key and copy it to the chip in the valet key.

Don't know what it'll cost you to get it cut & the chip cloned. In Australia it would be about $120 or so to do both.

Or you can order a pre-cut valet key p/n C2C2899 you need to give the VIN of the car when you order the key. Should be about $102 for the pre-cut key.

But you still need to have the key coded to the car. This can only be done with the dealer-level diagnostic system, so you would have to find a dealer.

Getting the chip cloned by a locksmith is probably easier/cheaper, if you can find someone who does it.
