Question Vehicle too low? Then light shuts off?

Hi there, I have a 04vdp and when I go to start the car car I get a red error light that says "vehicle too low". When I first pull out of the driveway the rife feels a little rough but after driving for a few blocks it seems to get better and the light shuts off. Sometimes the light does not shut off, instead I will get a yellow light that says"Air Suspension Fault" and the ride will be rough the whole way. Sometimes if I get the yellow "air suspension fault and shut the car off and back on again, the "vehicle too low" light comes on then after driving for a bit the ride gets better and the light shuts off. Also I notice that when I park the car and let it sit for a while the front is sitting lower than the back.

Can these cars be scanned with the ODBII scanner?

Is this a common problem? Where do I start to fix it?

Thanks
Miguel

Unfortunately, this is a fairly common problem with the XJ series. Based on your description, I would say you have a leak in one of the air components. (hopefully not one of the air springs) Get a bottle of bubble blowing soap and a brush and start looking for the leak. You don't need the engine running but you will need the suspension pumped up like right after you turn the engine off. I'm sure others who have had this problem will be jumping in here with suggestions.

hey Jack how you been?
to determine if its and air spring, take out the spare tire and styrofoam cover over the air suspension reservoir and valve block. disconnect the wire connector that goes to the valve block with all the hoses coming out. this will keep the air suspension module from filling leaking springs while sitting. measure all 4 fenders and write down the height. No go to bed, get up in the mornign and check all 4 corners again. I f you have dropage you have a leak at that spring. if not its more likely the air suspension compessor is not filling the reservoir to the correct psi in the proper amount of time

Good to see you back Brutal.

How about 04VDP, how's the leak finding coming along?
