Default What year xjr to purchase.

Hi all, I currently own a 2000 xjr that I purchased new. Looking to purchase a newer xjr in this category, which year is the best one to consider. Thank you.

There have been running changes to the model. They made several improvements in 2006.
Figure out how much and go from there. The Ford years are solid cars. The suspension; rubber bushing, boots, and air springs are total junk. The rest is a really nice car.

There is nothing wrong with an 04...Doesn't have VVT...The reason I say this there are probably ten 04s to one 06 or 07...Way easier to find...

I have a 2005 XJR which I have been extremely pleased with for over 3 years now with 109,000 miles on it.

I still have original suspension and it still operates as if new.

Having said that it, in stock form, is about 10 hp lower than the 2006+ model because of not having vvt. Also 2006+ had significant electronic upgrades.

The only "major" maintenance jobs that I have had to perform are renewal of all rear bushings and all fluids changed including a complete tranny flush and fill.
