Where is the Event Data Recorder (EDR) ?
Does anybody know where the “black box” or Event Data Recorder (EDR) is located in Jaguar XJ8 models?
It should be the size of a pack of playing cards but I can't find it.

I've deleted your duplicate post - very confusing to have two identical threads.

According to a technical document I have, there is an event recorder built in to the ECM:
"The ECM is at the centre of the system and provides overall engine control. Its function can be sub-divided into the following sections, each of which is dependent on the drivers requirements and the engine and vehicles state at any moment in time.
...
Flight Data Recorder (Black Box): Recording data to assist with problem diagnosis in the event of an incident in the field.
ECM Data Recorder
The flight data recorder captures vehicle data in the event of an incident in the field. This data may be used for problem diagnosis and displayed using WDS.
The functionality of the data recorder is carried over from X-TYPE.
DTC P1582 (flight recorder) data is stored if any one of the five conditions listed below occur:
1. lnertia switch activated
2. Throttle failure causes default into limp home mode
3. Engine starts and hesitates
4. Engine fails to start
5. Engine stall"
