Default Where's this part go?

Just putting the inlet manifold / plenum back together and I'll be dammed if I can remember where this part goes exactly?

I know that it's a bracket from under the inlet manifold / plenum somewhere, but this is one bracket that I failed to take a picture of in-situ prior to removing a couple of weeks ago, and now I can't figure out where, exactly, it gets bolted back on to.

Do any of you chaps have any ideas?

Ah, I forgot to mention, it's an early 2004 X350 XJ6.

HTH?

It looks a little like the "engine cover left-hand side retaining bracket" depicted on page 153 of the X350 WorkshopUS004 -No. 3 Powertrain manual. The part of the bracket with 2 holes sit over the valve cover and appears to be held on by the valve cover bolts. If those holes line up with the valve cover I would say that could be it.

Many thanks RancheroGuy. Top man.

Yes, the two holes on the long side mate up with the studs poking through the cam cover on the right hand side, (as you're looking at the engine with the bonnet up), so I suspect that they also fit on the left hand side.

Bloody typical though isn't it. I spent quite some time like a contortionist yesterday re-connecting all the connectors at the back of the plenum, which I've not got to disconnect to get this bracket on, to then faff about re-connecting. Oh well, that should teach me not to photograph EVERYTHING before I remove it.

Added to which, I sold my old car yesterday, so I'm now without transport until I get the Jag on the road, (Wednesday I reckon).

I hope that is where it goes. I can usually find where the leftover part goes by looking at how many things I must remove to put it on. The more work I must do twice makes it most likely to be correct. I also usually forget to photograph the 1 piece that remains at the end of a project. "Oh I will remember where this goes so no problem". Usually followed by the mandatory dropping of a small socket into the unknown beneath the engine's heat shields never to be seen again.

Congratulations on the sale (selling your primary transportation usually dictates some kind of delay in the work you are doing on your planned transportation). Good progress on your "moneypit" though.

Edited to add;

I've been doing family stuff so far today, and I've just had the bonnet up to have a look at this, plus downloaded the workshop manual.

For those in the future who find themselves in a similar spot to what I am now, the following information may help clear up any potential confusion.

I, (and I suspect many others), will label left hand side, (left hand side cylinder head for example), as the one on your left as you're stood in front on the car with the bonnet open. So on the V6's, the black cam cover / rocker cover, will be your left hand one, and your silver cam cover / rocker cover will be your right hand side, correct???

Wrong.

Jaguar, and therefore any workshop manuals, (or at least all the ones I've seen), denote left hand side and right hand side from how you see them from behind the steering wheel looking out of the windscreen, which of course makes them the opposite way around.

Which now means that the black cam cover is the right hand one and the silver cam cover is the left hand one.

That makes sense, right?
