Is the new cap a Jag part?, or aftermarket, these things have pressure release valves on them, and if you are in Texas, I assume at this time of year, even in your garage the temperature get a bit warm, the fuel in the tank will expand, and if the pressure can't be released it can cause problems, you may just have to u-screw the cap to release the excess pressure

Jags are at least as reliable, as any other high end car, & often much easier to access replacement parts. Remember many are Lincoln LS, or Thunderbird parts, available for a lot less cash. I try keep my eyes open for known wear parts at a good price, to have on hand when needed. Things are much more enjoyable this way for me, as my patience needs work, & things can get frustrating. Get things apart, take a short break, things usually seem go back together a lot easier, as well as faster than they came apart, this way for me.

These cars are now 10 years old or more, buy any 10 year old car and you WILL have problems with it, and probably most will be the very same problems we get with our 10 year old plus cars.
I didn't buy this car because it was cheap, I bought this car because I wanted it, I knew it would cost money to keep it going, I knew because of it's age it would have problems, I knew that even the smallest of faults would have me spending me free time hunting for a cure.
Looking on Autotrader just now, I could have taken my near £7000 and got a 2015 Hyundai i30 1.6 Diesel, or a 2013 Nissan Juke 1.5 Diesel, a 2016 Fiat 500 1.2 petrol, a 2016 Renault Zoe Electric, or a 2016 Vauxhall Corsa ecoflex 1.4 3dr hatchback.
But I didn't want a run of the mill puddle jumper, I wanted a state of the art monster packed with technology, with enough room inside to hold a Queen concert, and the ability to break the sound barrier with a flick of the right ankle. And that is exactly what I spent my £7000 on, and when I am driving it, I have a grin a mile wide that you couldn't wipe off with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire.

My Honda Ridgeline does it for sure any day when there is a greater than 30 degree temperature swing and Honda's are notorious for this. From what I understand, the computer checks the pressure/vacuum or whatever in the tank at certain intervals, even when the ignition is off and if the difference between checks is above some threshold, it triggers the message to check the fuel cap because it thinks there is a leak. Older Honda's used to throw a code automatically that had to be reset, but later Honda's don't throw a code until it happens multiple times after telling you to check the fuel cap. If it were me, I'd just check/reset the code and not worry about it unless it started happening regularly.

The 20" Senta's was offered as standard equipment on my 2007 XKR - - in South Africa. Usually, all luxury dealers spec the cars they need to import to the hilt. My car, for instance, was specified with the 20" Senta's, adaptive cruise control and a host of other bits as standard. Lucky me!!
