By 2005 these cars had gotten pretty reliable so I, personally, would not buy a warranty.

Can't comment on the duel climate control issue, mine doesn't have it.

. . . and welcome to the forum and to the wonderful world of Jaguar.

Hi
Welcome to the forum. This is the XJ (X308) section that covers 1997 to 2003 model years.

Your posting would get a more informative answers in the XJ (X350/X358) section of the forum it covers the 2003.5 to 2007 model years.

I know how it is to be a newbee and I am only trying to lead you to the area where you will able to get answers from members who have experience with your Jaguar model.

These Jaguars are great cars.

Even though this is in the wrong section, the X350s are very reliable imo. I would have no problem purchasing one and not getting a warranty. We owned an 04 xjr for 5 years and are on year 3 with our 05 xjr. Between the two of them, we have had less problems with them than our two hyundais.

I have a 2005 that would only blow cool air through the driver side heating vents and it turned out to be a clogged heater core. I have read a few threads with similar issues. If I remember correctly there were a couple of simple ways to diagnose the problem (like feeling the hoses coming out of the core for heat), have a search through the forum and you will probably be able to find the details.
