Windshield trim won't stay on
2004 VDP. The windshield trim clips into these plastic clips that appear to be embedded under the windshield. I think one is missing, one is cracked and the last one just won't hold the trim down. I cannot be seen driving my VDP around with masking tape holding the trim on. Anyone have experience with this problem.
Yes
Replace faulty clips if you can without damaging the glass
or get a wind screen person to replace the whole lot after removing 'screen.
The clips are only available from a screen specialist or maybe Jaguar dealer.

Can the plastic trim clips be replaced with out removing the wind shield? Also I have found that there are molding products that could replace the OEM molding. 3M has a molding that would bond to the glass. That might be the easiest solution.
If you decide to go the clip route I have all of them available.
I also has a 2004 VDP. About 4 of the 10 trim clips have broken. I have 4 new clips but now I think I should replace all 10, there all old and brittle. I am trying to figure how to get the broken clips out so I can slide the new ones in with new butyl.
I also want to repaint the metal molding. I prefer to remove the rubber parts. The inter ones came off easy. They have a female channel in then that slides over the male channel in the metal molding. I think with some lube is should be easy (I hope).
The outer rubber molding has a male profile the slides into a female profile in the metal molding. The appears it might be a problem. I could mask it off but re
moving it would do a better job. Has anyone done this successfully?
