Could you possibly be more vague? Picture, wire colors, something?

There is only one set of wires with a connector that comes off of the transmission harness

According to the schematic, the two way black plug with a black wire and Brow/red wire is to the TCM capacitor mounted on the engine compartment bulkhead.

I would

I would love to know that you solved it, but the wire and plug only have a 6inch reach at the most from the transmission harness plug so it won’t reach that far. I’m not that good at reading electric schematics is there any other plug around the transmission area that takes those wires?

I've got some work to do on mine possibly next weekend.......so while I have it jacked up and the stone guards off I'll have a look to see if I can spot the plug you are looking at.

Interim update: -
Been through the entire schematic this afternoon and of the 158 references to a Brown/Red (NR) wire, I only came up with a couple that were to a 2 way plug that also had a black wire present.
  • The TCM capacitor connector (still the most likely connection point for your connector)
  • The auxiliary water pump (I happen to be changing mine this weekend but that is lower RHS behind radiator which your cable definitely won't reach from the TCM harness).
Yet to confirm where the TCM capacitor is physically mounted on mine when I get underneath it this weekend.

By any chance are you having any occasional transmission shifting oddities, or clicking or popping on the sound system during transmission shifts?
A missing TCM capacitor could let solenoid switching transients leak back into the main electrics.

Hi Jason,

Sorry for the huge delay in getting info back to you.........the past 5 months have been a total b!tch having go COVID for the first time, the flu twice and then my wife had a stroke.

I did eventually get around to that maintenance work on my X356 and located the wiring you were looking for.
It does appear to be to the transmission loom suppressor capacitor that is located at the right rear of the transmission above the sump flange.
It is the black rectangular brick that is approximately 30mm x 25mm x 12mm.
I did take a couple of photos for you before I let the car off the jacks.....hope this helps.

Cheers Mark
