Would this work? Air suspension related
I currently don't have the money to do a complete air suspension conversion to coils. The rear has failed but the front suspension is still good. Was wondering if I could convert just the rear and in a few weeks replace the fronts. I just need to be able to get back and forth from work. Also id only be driving 6 total miles a day and speed limit is 30 the entire way. Thanks for the help

I had the money, had the parts on-hand, even. but not the physical energy to do the install same-day.
I can confirm that one corner at a time, either to coilovers OR 'generic' (Chinese made) air struts (without the shock absorber modulation) can be done.
The control loop is so primitive, all it can grok is the road must have gone uglier than not.

CAVEATS:
- A 15 Ohm resistor across where each shock was connected is wanted to kill the amber 'Suspension fault' warning light. The size I used had lead wires that were a comfortable push-fit in the OEM sockets.
- ANY modified - especially assymetrical - suspension "environment'"is biased towrds creating unpredictable response in extreme weather or rapid emergency maneuvering situations. Be aware, and pay attention to the need to manually ameliorate those risks until you can put it all back in balance.... then re-familiarize with the 'new' parameters.
EG: Pretend it is a rental car you haven't driven before?
Coilovers are not the only option.
I have been delighted with the four Suncore (or knock off?) Chinese struts from Strutmasters. Levelingf & such all work as OEM did. I don't miss the shock modulation at all.
Accordingly, the four coilovers (from MaxPee DingRods) are back in their box 'on standby' for a 'real' emergency.

It sounds like you're in a bit of a tricky spot, but your approach makes sense. If the front suspension is still good and you only need to drive a short distance, converting just the rear to coils could be a temporary fix to get you by without compromising too much on safety. Since the speed limit is low and your driving distance is minimal, it might work for now, but just be sure to keep an eye on the overall ride and handling. When you do get the funds for the front conversion, you'll be back in business. Just make sure the rear coils are installed properly to avoid any issues down the line. Good luck, and stay safe out there!
