Unhappy X350 Bodywork corrosion.

As the X350 is at the 6 year old mark may I suggest that owners check their bodywork for corrosion. I know it shouldn't happen, but believe me, it does.
The usual places are the leading edge of the boot/trunk lid, the rear window pillars which can bubble the paintwork, the door bottoms and area's just below the chrome window strips. There have also been cases of bonnets/ hoods being affected as well as wheel arches.

I have had mine resprayed in a couple of area's by Jaguar under the 6 year bodywork warranty.

I hope you guys on the other side of the pond don't have this problem but it's best to check just in case. Also, over here in the UK, the car can be taken to any Jaguar main dealer for the work to be carried out, regardless of where the car was purchased.

Let's hope the new XJ doesn't have the same fault.

Default Unlikely in TX

Most likely to see this on Jags from the north climes, especially where they put salt on the roads. Here in TX you see 10-20 year old cars with no rot. However they will often not have much paint left either, as that has been seared off by the sun....
I saw an 03 black Lexus IS with a very large sunburn on the roof. Turns out the owner parks it out in the sun all day every day, the dash was cracked, the lights all crazed and fogged and the roof burnt....
