Default X350 Headlamp Unit

I have a problem with the sidelight on my 2006 X350. When I've looked in the headlamp unit, the two cables which run to the plastic sidelight bulb holder have come away from the terminal block inside the unit (pic attached). Does anyone know if the terminal block (where you can see corrosion on the pic) can be popped out so that the cables can be reattached or is the only solution a new headlamp unit?

Many thanks in anticipation.

When I look at my unit those two detached wires you show go right into the back of your corroded socket.
They follow the main bulb wiring sleeve into that socket.

If I were facing replacing the whole unit I might carefully cut the socket out and see if I could reattach the wires then glue it back in.

Infact that socket might possibly be a press in fit?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it feels like it's a press in fit but I can't work out how to release it. It feels like there are release clips on the inside of the unit but can't get enough pressure on them to get it out.

I've been wondering whether I can just crimp new connectors on the cables and push them through the block from the back.

So long as you can see where to push them and get at the location it would work.
