I was looking at replacing all my interior lights with cool white LED's, but after experimenting decided I really like the stock "soft" lights.

For your reference a 2004 XJ8 has the following interior (and a few exterior)lights:
Outside
license plate (qty 2) 194
under side mirrors* (qty 2) 194
Inside
door mounted lights (qty 4) 10x36
front under dash lights (qty 2) 194
rear floor lights (qty 2) 10x36
front overhead lights** (qty 2) 194 and (qty 1) 10x36
rear overheads*** (qty 4) 194
glovebox (qty 2) 194
trunk (qty 1) 10x36

*Push mirror towards front of car and light compartment pulls out away from car. (Thanks to FactoryJaguarTech for this info.)
**The cover is on there pretty good, but you just need to be patient and pull hard.
***This is the only place where screws were required to be removed (mostly holding the handles). None of the other lightsrequire screw removal to get to them.

194 = wedge base 194 style bulb
10x36 = festoon style bulb that measures 10mm dia and 36mm length

Not terribly likely that anyone will need this info, but figured I'd document before I forgot.

 

lol Orlando....nice info....and there is far more people than you realize will want it.

 

Specifically, how do you remove the bulb from the plastic housing you pull out from under the side mirrors?? I can remove/unplug it with no problems, but I am at a loss on how to get at the bulb itself. Please help.
