X350 Rear Suspension Creak
I have an issue that has been plaguing my 2004 Vanden Plas. Whenever it is cold, hot, or the air is dry, there is a constant creaking/squeaking sound coming from the rear suspension when I go over bumps at any speed. It's seems to go away temporarily when it is very humid or after I've sprayed lubricant on the suspected problem areas.
The creaking/squeaking can also be heard when I park the car, turn it off, get out, and the air suspension levels itself or if I push the car up and down at the rear corners after it's been parked. I suspect it might be the bushings that have worn away. The car has 50900 miles on it.
Does anyone think this could be the problem and if so is there a specific part that needs to be checked/changed? If not, I'm open to any advice.
Thanks

Hello Again!
My friend has an 03 X350 and has the same problem. It is caused by rubber bushes probably in a wishbone. If I had this problem I would try getting grease (preferably rubber grease) into the offending bush as an interim measure.
It should be possible to buy new bushes without having to replace the complete component if you spend enough time searching.
Good luck
Bobbie

i have had rear lower bushings get noisy..
but does it happen the second you take the key out?
the parking brake cables can get kinked under there holders.. and make noises
but if its the bushings.. you'll have to get a whole arm or inject them with grease..

There's play in my right rear bushing and the dealer said it was a $40 part with 3 hours labor :-(
I think my independent repair place said the labor was less hours. This repair is next on my list in a couple of weeks.
