XJ wiper replacement
Gentlemen; I just joined this site, just for the reason of thanking you for all the help. My 2004 XJR has the wide insert blades and according to my dealer the only thing to be done is to replace the "wiper system" Yea Right. I just ordered the Bosch kit on eBay from the UK. $29 shipped to the US. As some of you have also attempted, to find them on this continent, I have also not been able to.
Thank You So much for the help

The only countries I have been able to find these are Germany, UK, and Latvia.
By the way, a set of inserts for these is very inexpensive. less than $10 2 x Wischergummis für BOSCH 3397007654 AR608S AEROTWIN Scheibenwischer 600/475 | eBay
It might be worth it to buy a spare set or two for the future. In this way they can be replaced every year or two the way they should be.

Thanks. I did the same thing. After not being able to find replacement cartridges with the spray nozzle, and seeing the cost of buying the replacement nozzle at about $20, I decided that all I really needed to do was remove the worn out blades and metal carriage and replace those. Purchased the same size blades and removed them from the carriage that they were in. Squeezing with a pliers on the end which has a small catch to lock them into the carriage gets them to slide right out. Did this on both the old carriage and the replacements. Then merely have to slide the new blade and metal carrier into the old carriage and put back onto the wiper arm. Hooked up the washer hose and voila, new wipers! Cheap and easy.
That's what I wanted to do also, but I couldn't. My OE wipers had the 12mm blades and even the inserts I got from Jaguar would not fit because they only have the 8mm ones. For the Thirty bucks including shipping it was worth the purchase from the UK. It was less than a five minute job to change them and they actually look better than the OE wipers.
There is a far simpler (and even less expensive) solution to aftermarket wiper blade replacement on an X350 that allows you to retain the factory wiper blade holders and factory washers and without gerry-rigging anything.
Go to the local parts store and ask for ANCO N-19R and N-24R. You have to ask because they're typically not stocked on the rack. These are narrow wiper refills only (not the whole wiper arm). The original factory blades have to be coaxed out of the arm with pliers and you do destroy the old filler because they weren't made to be replaced that way. The new fillers simply and thread back in the arms and come with a locking tab that allows easy and quick replacement from then on.

Last month the cheapest I could find were these on amazon: "Windshield Wipers, 24'' + 19'' Wiper Blades for Volkswagen CC 2009-2017, Passat 2006-2019, Infiniti OX30 2014-2019". They work fine. If you want full wiper arm replacements with water spray nozzles, you can find aftermarket ones on ebay, including Bosch and lower-priced generics.
It takes maybe 10 minutes to change both blades this way, IF you can get the arms off. You can't flip the wiper blades up like on most cars. You flip them up as far as you can, which is about 5" at the far end. Then you find the latch to release the J-hook, hold it down, and slowly pull the blade off the arm while bending the top of the blade up. You want to get the blade angled up enough to slide the J-hook thru a slot in the blade, then move the hook around the thing it was held on and pull it back out of the blade. IIRC. Then you can get the blade kind-of off of the arm, enough to make changing the rubbers easier.
Yes, with the hood closed you will only be able to lift the arms in a very limited way, as described.
If you open the hood, you will be able to flip the wiper arms up completey underneath the hood, which makes the replacement much easier. At least, it works with my car...
Best regards,
Thomas

Speaking of replacing the wipers, if someone could figure out the black magic of parking them wipers in the middle of the windscreen that would be real nice:

I tried all sorts of variations of what the guy in the video is doing, doesn't do isht for me.

Genius! Why didn't I think of that?
