XJ6 Sport on its way !!
Those who have read some of my posts will know I currently have a Rover 75 V6, not a car familiar in the US, but it has served me very, very well.
However, today I put down a deposit on a 2003 XJ6 Sport 3 litre. Car is one-owner, (apart from Dutton-Forshaw as a demonstrator), and is on 30k miles, with FSH from them.
My God ! Is this car full of goodies, and I shall never get lost as it has sat-nav, although I am pretty good a map reading anyway.
Only thing I don't like is the 19" alloy wheels. When the tyres are worn out, I might look for a set of smaller wheels, as I like more comfort. Going round bends on two wheels is not for me any more !!

Wow Fraser,
Sounds like a beauty! What colour(s)? Very little mileage at all on it.
Yes, 19's start to stretch it for me too. I've 18s on two of my Jags and 16s on my 96 VDP. The 96 is like taking my living room out for a drive.

Good choice!
Maybe the SE or Sovereign might have given you the softer ride that you want though?
Mine rides on 20" wheels and the magic carpet ride is excellent with the Sovereign suspension.
Enjoy the toys

Hi Stevetech
Car is metallic British Racing Green, a fairly dark green. Whilst I would have preferred the non-sport version, the mileage and condition did it for me. Price £10k with 6 months full warranty, renewable at my cost at the end of the 6 months.
I just wish I could keep the Rover 75 too, as it is such a nice car, but I have nowhere to garage it. It would be nice to just have it as a hobby car for ocasional summer weekends and Rover 75 Club rallies. I may investigate further to see if there is any possibility of getting a secure lock-up place near here, (Crewe, UK).

Went to see the car again today. It was in the workshop having the wheels put back on as they had needed some refurbishment due to kerbing. Two new tyres also fitted.
The wheels are huge 20" things called "Sepang" wheels, which I don't really like as they make the ride a bit hard, and are susceptible to pothole damage. However, I shall live with them for a bit !!
As the wheels were off, I checked the brake discs and there is virtually no wear, backing up the mileage, and also new pads have been put in all round, and genuine Jaguar ones at that.
I think I am going to like having a Jaguar again, but I just hope it is reliable. I will not be doing all that many miles as I intend to take the bus to work again, As a pensioner with a bus pass, it only costs me 65p a day, whereas Rover was about 1/3- 1/2 a UK gallon, plus £2.20 to park, on the days all the free parking spaces have gone. So I will be easily able to afford the petrol for the weekend trips around our beautiful countryside.

I have my fingers crossed for you Fraser. I hope this Jaguar picks you as its new owner!
I've 18s on mine (actually my wife drives it as her car), and they're very comfortable...so she tells me....actually, I've been in the car....a couple of times, that is.... and it is a cushy ride....But she does let me wash it for her...often....and fix it...if it breaks....which it never does.
