Default Starter replacement

I had been to that site and down loaded the manuals there. I ended up with a lot of unwanted stuff on my computer.
I found this post the most useful Replacing Starter on 2001 Stype - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Hey, guys. For those who have done this, please help. I have a 2004 XJ8 4.2 (NA). Can this be done with the car on the ground (without a lift)?

I can get the car up on jack stands and try to go in through the wheel well, but I will not have the ability to lift the engine or remove any subframe or steering rack. I tried to scope out the job on All Data, but there wasn't much there. They say it's less than an hour's work, but I assume that is if you have the benefit of a lift. I can get the S shaped wrench, no problem.
