XJ8 window motor
Before you start thinking about a new motor, you need to check whether it is a motor failure or a failure somewhere else. Failure of these motors is extremely rare, almost unknown in fact, with most failures caused by broken wires or switches. What you need to do is to remove the driver door panel, disconnect the feed to the window motor, and then, with an AVO meter, check to see if volts are supplied to the Up/Down connections.
However, before you do that, check the fuse. If you tried to open the window in Arctic conditions, the fuse could have blown with the window being frozen up. However, seeing you're from the "Lone Star State", it might not be a weather-related problem.

I had the motor checked and was told that it was bad
I have had prices from $1000 (new) $570 to $322 (rebuilt)
The $570 was from local o'reilly parts and the $322 is from
o'reilly online. Strange.
