XJR Suspension Module?
Hello everyone, My 04 XJR is having suspension issues, the rear shocks have been changed a few months ago, and the compressor still turns on when we jump out the relay. Since I am not getting a "low ride warning" fault on my dash like I did when my rear shock went, I'm assuming my air suspension module is shot since the tires are now rubbing on the wheel well it's so low.
Anyway, I have a manual that says the air suspension module is AROUND the back seat location, but doesnt give specifics. I have the back seat up after unlcipping the 4 little clips to get the cushion up, but it looks like there is just more padding. My question is, before I go ripping up padding and the like, is it under there? Or somewhere else. The reason I have to believe this is the problem is because when my sunroof broke, the back floor was constantly wet, even after the dealer put the sunroof back in place, but not fully fixing it. Any help would be great. thanks!

Ok so the online manual I have says it IS in the back rest part of the seat, not the bottom part. Now my question is, How do I get that part off? I have the DVD control console in the middle too so I must be wary of that. Are there similar clips like the bottom? Or are they bolts? I dont see much
It's very unusual for an ASM (a box of solid state electronics with no moving parts), to fail. I cannot help but think you need to (1) reset the ride height using the correct software package and (2) if that doesn't work, check the ride height detectors, 2 at the rear, one at the front. These can fail and do.
The suspension compressor has to run from time to time to recharge the reservoir. Compressed air is blown back out of the compressor at the end of reasonably long runs after engine shut-off to clear water out of the water trap, so has to be replenished at intervals.

If the ride height sensors did fail, would the computer not tell me?
Maybe, maybe not ! Not everything has a fault detector built in !
With complex cars like this, it's always better checking everything out before whacking out on very expensive parts. Ride height sensors can get out of range and fool the ASM into thinking all is well when it ain't, hence the PC program to reset ride height by telling the ASM when the correct ride height has been acheived, thus locking in the height sensor readings into the memory.
