1996 jaguar vanden plas. Smoke
1996 JAGUAR VANDEN PLAS is smoking out the tail pipe. The car sat for about 1.5 years. I drained all the old gas put new gas in new + oil and it still is smoking like crazy. It did have a misfire on cylinder 2 and was dumping raw fuel into the catalytic converter because I had the check engine light flashing. Finally replaced the fuel injector and fixed the misfire. But still has the smoking issue. The weird thing is that this smoke is not your typical blue or white steamy smoke. it last a long time doesn't look blue, and does not smell sweet like coolant. Any ideas what it can be and how to fix???? The car runs amazing, the throttle response is good, and power is also good.

Are you sure you got *all* the old fuel out?
The gas sold in my neck o' the woods will result in a turpentine-ish exhaust odor if it goes badly stale....and make lots of smoke
How much running time do you have? Perhaps residue in the converters, pipes, and mufflers is till burning off?
Cheers
