Default 1997 XJ6 4.0L at the junkyard

There’s a 97 XJ6 4.0L at the junkyard. I haven’t gotten too much into it, but I am wondering what parts I could pull off of it that could be useful to have tucked away in the garage in case I ever need it. Any ideas? I have a 97 XJR6 so I figure not all parts are interchangeable?

the front end is missing except for the bonnet and grill which seems to be in decent condition.

I have pulled all the relays from the boot and in the engine bay. As well as the headlamps, clock unit, kick down switch and dash defrost vents.

Not everything inside is in good condition. Someone has already gotten inside and unfortunately destroyed some parts in attempt to get what they wanted.

some that come to mind are: dimmable rear view mirror if in good condition, window switches, gearstick plastic surround (they usually break when removed), vents if they they have good tabs, rear parcel shelf if it has a subwoofer opening, abs wheel sensors, MAF.
exhaust manifolds if they are uncracked, and exhaust shield if it is chrome and in good condition.

yeah, my list was mainly just stuff thats always in demand, and easily resellable, not specifcally XJR6 compatible parts.

Grab the ignition coils, especially if they are the original Lucas-branded ones (Made in Japan by Diamond Electric Mfg. Corp.). I think they will fit your engine, but if not, someone always needs them so they'll be easy to sell. One of my friends just bought a complete set and paid $35 for each coil.

Other items I can think of:

Fuel Injectors

Camshaft Position Sensor

Camshaft Cover

Center Console Arm Rest / Cupholder (even if it's not the correct color for your car, the cupholder can be used to repair yours if you ever need to)

Lug Nuts - 2 or 3 of the nicest ones from each wheel

Gear Shift knob

Radio

Radiator Fan/Shroud Assembly

Ignition switch

Turn Signal Switch

Wiper/Washer Switch

Bonnet Leaper

Brake Master Cylinder & Booster

Windshield Wiper Motor

Probably a lot more!

Cheers,

Don
