'95 to '96 parts compatiblity
Guys, I have a line on a '96 XJ6 for a good price.
The junk yard is selling it because there is no key to unlock the steering column.
Honestly, if I buy it the primary reason will be to salvage parts off of it for my 1995.
Does anyone see why I would have any problems other than paint and interior (its burgandy on tan and mine is black on black)
Also,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in parts off of it. I have not bought it yet, so I am not sure what will be available.

You will be hard pressed to find parts differences between a MY 95 and MY 96 X-300. The engine might have a different cam, and the MY 96 will have a glove box in the location in front of the passenger's seat. I am sure I am missing some other variation, but i bet it is insignificant for parts.
BTW, I bought a low mileage wrecked car to have a pristine engine and transmission, and I used a good many small parts, but the XJR is retire and the engine and transmission are still with me. The running gear is just so mechanically solid on these cars!

Apart from the obvious differences between LWB and SWB, I imagine most parts are interchangeable, if they are the same engine size. I say MOST, as you don't know what surprises you might find. I drive a 96 Sovereign and have a 97 Sovereign donor car. The wheel speed sensors are different to the extent that they are incompatible!!
And the daily driver is 4.0 litre, whereas the donor car is 3.2 litre, so, the transmission and diff are not compatible either.
But I'd think that most major bits will swap. It's the little things that Jaguar seemed to tinker with.
