Is there any way to remove that bit between the armrest and tray?

 

What I discovered was simply a VERY strong clip right in that area. I just had to pull REALLY hard, and it finally gave. The clip ended up coming out with the white plastic piece it secures into, which inevitably somewhat broke. To reinstall, I removed the white plastic piece from the clip on the door panel, installed it into the door, and then installed the door panel. It is sill very rigid and secure.

 

Yes, I just got impatient and hauled on the thing. Made a right pigs **** of it too. It was lift up an off after all, but for some reason it wouldn't move upwards before - maybe I wasn't trying hard enough.

Anyway, I just pulled the thing straight off. The plastic piece got badly broken, and I even bent the metal panels it slots into (they'll bend right back though).

How not to do it:



^ if you look closely, you'll see that the metal edges are bent slightly (by the way, that gnarly cutting job on the grey insulating foam was Jaguars doing - what do they use, their teeth?)



So now I have to find a replacement for that plastic bit. Any ideas? I can see it listed in any stores...

 

I'd try some mega epoxy, if you still have the extra pieces lying around.

 

Looks to me as though you might still have enough left unbroken, to hold the thing in place as it is.

Remebering that you have all the other pannel clips and screws as well.

Failing that, what about swapping it with one of the lesser used rear doors, if they are the same?
