Angry 97 vanden plas no tail lights no hazards

Hi, looking for guidance to track down this issue-
No tail lights both sides (both fuses good)
No parking /side marking lights,no front pilot lights
No hazards , no tag lights
I'm looking for procedure to test lamp control module and BPM
I have pin out diagrams and back probes. I just want to know kinda step by step
how to approach this as well as any other suggestions anyone may have.
I've been lurking a while and know there's a lot of smart people in these
forums I would greatly appreciate any help with this issue

Looking at the 1997 schematics -

Fig 0.92 page 82 - side lights
Fig 0.94 page 86 - direction indicators

The Lamp Control Module (LCM) and Body Processor Module (BPM) are common to both.

Start with the Lamp Control Module (LCM)
  • Measue and confirm +12V supplies on BT20-17 Brown/Orange and BT20-18 Brown/Purple
  • Measure the control input to the LCM from the BPM on BT21-17 Red +12V when the light switch is OFF and 0V when the light switch is ON
  • If the control voltage is not present at the LCM check it at the BPM output on FC1-14 Red, as above +12V with the light switch OFF and 0V with the light switch ON
  • If the BPM output is not present check the switch input to the BPM on FC2-3 Blue/Light Green as above +12V with the light switch OFF and 0V with the light switch ON
If the input to the BPM on FC2-3 is as above but there is no output on FC1-14 that would suggest a faulty BPM.

There are 2 different lamp controls module part #s during X300 production

In the factory upgrading the lamp modules there was a TSB on upsizing the cars regular fuses in a few circuits

Thanks I had no output on FC1-14 and checked switch input to the BPM on FC2-3 Blue/Light Green - good
At BPM output on FC1-14 Red--good , input to the LCM from the BPM on BT21-17 Red - good
input to LCM BT20-17 Brown/Orange good and BT20-18 Brown/Purple - good
-"that would suggest a faulty BPM"
ordered LCM 2 hours later neighbor called said I left my lights on . I had but they weren't working at that time.
Replaced LCM all's good-Thanks Again!
