We have a white 97 VP does anyone know the paint code and where I might pick up some touch-up paint for it, also does the key on a 97 have a chip in it? Thanks.

 

Paint code should be on a label on the door jamb. In NA market cars, that is driver's (left side) door, forward, near the hinge.

 

The paint code should be on a tag on the left front door, a few inches above the latch mechanism.

The USA-market X300s did not have chipped keys

Tag is missing I can see where it used to be but it's gone now. Can I get the code from the vin #?

 

I think the dealer can find it from the VIN.

Just went looking for similar info some weeks ago when trying to figure out which year-range my paint code was offered...hang on, I'll edit back if I find what I'm looking for.

Don't have MY 97 info, but I have for MY 96, VIN 754304-on:

Spindrift White, Code NDM, JBC Code 731, JUC Ref 03, DuPont Stock # F1721

For MY 98; 812256-ON, it changes to Spindrift; Code NEE, JBC Ref 1732, JUC Ref 03A,

Search in the detailing section for the touch-up paint - several threads there discussing several different systems and there are links. I found some a month or two ago that listed the Jag paint codes after you put in your year and color...but failed to bookmark 'em.
