Default 97 xj6 L base rear skirt and FOBs

Hello everyone! I wanted to update first on my FOBS that quit working a while back..Thank you to everyone that offered information on reprogramming. I got a friend to look at both FOBS. He took them apart and cleaned up the inside (it was dirty) put new batteries in and VOILA! they both worked.. This really made my day! On another issue... I have rust on the rear, right skirt over the wheel. Now, another friend suggested that I look for a new or used skirt somewhere. But, when I looked around the skirts I found do not look the same. On this car, it appears that the left and right rear skirt is connected to the top !!! Is it possible that I am not seeing a seam somewhere before it goes up the 2 sides of the rear window? Can someone confirm that this piece is that large? Otherwise, I may just try to get the rust cut out and see how long that lasts. Thank you so much! I love my Jag!!

The rear skirts are indeed molded into the roofline, apparently blended together at the factory. Repairs back there usually require cutting the damaged piece out, whether it be rust or body damage. Conversely the front fenders are easy bolt-on pieces.

Glad to hear the fobs are working now. Keeping up on things, both big and little makes it that much easier to love your Jag!

Hello and thank you so much for this confirmation ... I thought I was losing my mind when I would search around online for the "L" base body parts. This forum is really helpful!
