Default AC port size/adapter needed

Any ideas what sort of a port type is used in an X300? I thought they are all standard but I've bought a R134a bottle with a hose which does not fit to the low side The quick release coupler seems to be too large for the low side and too small for the high side.
Do I need a different hose or an adapter?

The ports used in the x300 are GM style ball valve ports, used on literally hundreds of millions of GM cars and trucks. Any recharge kit that lists a lot of older R134 GM vehicles will likely fit. An auto parts store should know which is the common GM type. Sorry, I don't know the actual size of the fittings.

Dont bother trying to hunt down an adapter. Just get the right type of can. And leave that high side valve alone, you never hook up a can on the high side! It will probably explode.

Doh! My bad, hose is fine, its just the valve was so stuck I had to force it open and then the quick coupler engaged correctly. No pressure in there, all leaked out in 6 months
Hopefully leak stopper works as I'm not sure I'll be able to find such leak easily.

Oddly, the most likely location of a leak is the valve itself, particularly the high side valve. Ball valves are known to be less reliable than Schraeder valves. They are easy to replace, but the system must be empty to do so. A leak elsewhere will usually cause an oil stain in the area of the leak.

To recharge properly, a gauge set and electric vacuum pump are needed. The system must be evacuated with a vacuum pump first (which will reveal if the system is airtight) then recharged with about 36 oz of R134a.

Evacuation is necessary to get air out of the system. Air in the system will greatly reduce its efficiency, even if there is no mechanical problem.

Charge cans can refresh your system but might not work or stay working if the system was empty. Or if a valve is bad!

Meh, it sucks big time

3 years after my little accident and I'm still fixing the car. That side got hit, headlight was crashed, horn and grill pushed in. I suppose at least I found my small leak finally, for the past 3 years AC was fine for approx half a year, I suspect it finally gave up here and was impossible to find it without this hole or removing it completely as well hidden behind radiator(which caused this) and top panel.
Apart from this small hole rest of condenser is pretty much in like new condition so I will attempt repair. I'm planning on removing fins around the hole, brazing it and probably jb weld the whole thing. If it holds vacuum then that will do it, if not I'll look for a replacement but really annoyed as this is only ~4 years old and still looks perfect other than this damage.

BTW, re original question, the port size is 1/2"

Katar,

If you can do that yourself, then that's great. A brand new condenser is about $100, so it certainly would not be worth paying someone to do at this point.
