Default Accuracy of Electrical Guides

I've been chasing a couple of electrical issues in my 1997 XJ6 that I just bought that seem to point to the Body Processor Module so I picked up a different BPM and still have the same issues (starter engagement, drivers side windows, parking lights).

In trying to chase down the problem, I've discovered that the main power connection to the BPM (connector FC3) seems to have the wires installed in the connector upside down. Most of the functions of the car work fine except for the ones listed.

What risk would I be taking by switching the wires to match the 1997 electrical guide for that connector? Looks like grounds and power are possibly switched as well as all 5 of the wires.

How accurate are these guides? It does appear that not all the wire colors match the guide as well.

Looking for some wisdom here....

I've deleted your identical thread from General Tech Help. This is the right place to ask this question.

The wires do match the numbers on the male and female socket and in schematic in the guide so I'll assume the diagram showing the orientation of the FC3 into the BPM is incorrect and move on. There are other typos in the diagram for the BPM Connector Pin ID.
