I just bought a 96 XJ6 Vanden Plas.

The back middle seat belt is a lap belt only.

I have three kids and my wife won't let any of the kids ride in the middle seat with no shoulder belt.

Any suggestions to get a kit or get one installed? I am not the handiest guy ever but I could follow instructions from a kit.

Thing is, I refuse to install a belt that doesn't match the car colors etc.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

 

Welcome to the forum, can't help you with the belt, I can't see what you would attach the top bolt to.

If you used the side pillars, you would strangle the occupant next to the middle passenger, and if you made a fixing through the rear bulkhead then your middle passenger would need to be vertically challenged.

If small child, then a child/ado seat might be the way to go.

Easy enough to remove the rear seat to get at the belt fixings in order to correctly fit a child seat.

Perhaps others have more experience.
