I ran in to these while browsing for things that wife does not want me to look (more car parts that is).
Although the q&a says it will fit factory setup I did ask about the location of the front spring; If the front springs sit in the default spring pockets that might be something to look for adjustable suspension needs. If the spring is relocated to shock position like with some 3rd gen f-body stuff I would not use them.
the other option seems to be from these guys but even if the concept seems very cool it is more fabrication intensive and for design is for older models, but anyone actually going to use this kit mostly likely will anyways be skilled enough to check and modify things as needed.
then I started thinking what other options I know for at least adjustable dampers
KONI of course makes KONI specials that have dampening adjustment but those are pretty difficult to find.
Spax also makes adjustable shock but based on internet (which is always right) the quality on those is not that great.
Quantum racing has done at least one set for Swallows Racing XJR race car, but looking at the prices for XK (x100 and x150) kits, well the suspension most likely will be par on the price of the car
Gaz is offering stuff for XJ40
and then of course your friendly local race shop most likely will more than happily help you in exchange of nominal fee...
I like those SF Racing sport coil-overs! They would be great for your XJR! At least we'd like to hear from someone who has tried them out for fit and performance.
$899 sounds good to me, for all 4 corners in an adjustable set made for the X300.
The Q&A is a bit confusing, the first answer being correct but the second one "backwards". Their picture of these looks to be correct with separate units at the front and true coil-overs at the rear.
I'd try them myself, I'm sure they would change the character of the XJ12! But I'm simply not that ambitious at this point.
I just wanted to ping this, did anybody ever buy a set and try them out? I just put on an H&R lowering spring and it was the same as stock XJR. I tried looking at coilovers and have reached basically the same conclusion as this thread...
