Air Bag Simulator X300
Hi,
Will one of the commonly available Ford air bag simulators work on my X300? If so, which one? Does anyone have an OTC/SPX/Kent-Moore/whatever number?
Cheers and thanks

I simply use a 2.1 or 2.2 ohm resistor with a harness connector cut from a faulty device. I made a set of these when I worked at the dealer from discarded SRS components.
You can just insert the resistor leads into the connector but there is a 'shorting bar' installed in some connectors that activate when the connector is unplugged to ensure the circuit is discharged.
Just inserting the leads into the connector will not disengage the internal 'shorting bar'.
Jaguar issued several airbag simulators in the special tool kit but some of the connectors were not correct for all the plugs so I made a complete set with adapters.
2.2 Ohms is pretty standard for the early SRS devices and some Ford simulators fitted correctly. Some were different which is why I made my own set.
I don't remember all the various plugs but there are 3 or 4 different ones for the early cars.
Always measure the harness with the device disconnected or use WDS/IDS with datalogger to read the resistance. Reading directly 'might' cause the device to deploy???
