1997 XJ6 134k mi. My air/smog pump blows the 30 amp fuse every time it tries to kick on and the car stalls at the same time. Would lack of working air pump cause the car to stall? I thought it was just for pollution control.

Well, if the short is glitching the electrical system, it might cause a stall.
