Just got a new to me X300, and when I turn the car on, "airbag" is displayed on the message screen/odometer, is there a way to fix that, and what exactly is it telling me about the airbags?? Also, my anti lock light is on, I've read a few articles about maybe a cold solder issue, or maybe dirty sensors, anyway to determine which route I need to go to get that funcioning correctly?

It will necessary to take your car to a shop that has software for Jag specific codes to find out what the airbag message is, and that is true for the abs code also. They would be able to tell you whether you have a code refering to a specific wheel or the connection to the abs pump. If a wheel, you can remove the sensor and clean it, then try to determine if it's the cable if the problem persists.

The odometer should be lit, so it's likely a bulb.

When you have made 10 posts and have at least 3 days on the forum you can download the repair manual and service manual if needed from the DIY sticky at the top of the forum page.

Thanks for the help guys! Funny thing, I pulled the instrument cluster to change some burnt out bulbs the other day, and ever since I put it all back together, the airbag message has not come back....I don't know If there was a loose connection under the steering column that I bumped or what, but so far so good for about a week now.
