Default Are (all) x300s pre-wired for cruise control?

Hey all,

I'd like to find the parts to retrofit cruise control into my 96 XJ6, I'm wondering if anyone knows if the wiring looms are already in place?

I'm hoping that I can just source the parts and out them in place and connect them to the wiring.

Cheers,
Harry

I think so????

Mine is a "poverty pack" and has cruise, but the standard stereo, and above the tank in the boot are various plugs that I know are for the "Premuim Sound".

Also, under the seats are plugs and wires for seat heaters that we did not get at that time.

Also have various plugs etc that are for stuff our market never had available, so the cruise wiring should be there somewhere.

Makes sense to make ONE loom and plug in what is asked for at build time.

Others will chime in when the planets align.

That does make sense, if it was a dealer option then surely the looms are there.

Grant could I bother you for some photos of the cruise control parts in your engine bay and how they are mounted?

I haven't been able to find any images of that detail for the x300

At one time Jaguar did offer a cruise retrofit kit for X300's that didn't have it originally.

Harry,

The car ius in the paint shop as the new ownere hated the peeling clear, no sense of humour.

I have a spare key for it, as well as all hiis other cars, and will do the snaps as soon as I can.

Do you have the spare parts book schematics on that cruise????, I can copy paste that if it will help.

Also note, under bonnet items, the hook up, etc, are the same as the XJ40.

Found the part number for the retrofit kit: JLM11830. Showing NLA at Jaguar, but some dealers might have stock.

Here ya go.

#1 is the bellows etc
#2 is showing the other parts used for cruise.
#3 is the throttle body.

NOTHING shows the assembled unit as a whole.

Maybe someone has their X300 or XJ40 that can snap the throttle body for you.

Mine is at least a week away according to the current owner. I will then have it here for service etc.

Just an update. Due to Grants helpful info I manage to get the bellows, dump valve and vacuum pump off of an xj40 at the wreckers for $40 NZD. Just need the control unit and switch pack now.

And for future reference, it looks like the x300 is pre-wired for cruise control.

And the xj40 an supply the following, bellows and hardware, vacuum pump and dump valve (but I think the connector is different of the this) also the vacuum hoses. The switches and control unit are different though.
