Hi,

I hate to bring bad news into the forum but here it is.
My wife was driving the 1997 XJ6 and was in a collision, which made a bit of a mess of the car.
I arrived at the scene about 15 minutes after and thankfully found that everyone involved was safe and uninjured.
Both cars took an impact on the front left corners, the other a 2010ish VW Golf definitely came off much worse with the whole quarter damaged as well as suspension damage.
We are looking at damage to the front bumper, front left wing, bonnet, lights trims and fittings. The frame is visible and has the welded flanges bent a little, but it doesn't look too structural, yet.
I am hoping we can work something out with the insurance, fingers and toes crossed.

I hope the photo's are not too distressing.

This gouged the VeeDub

Look at the quality of that wiring harness.

OK, it could do with a wash

Pushed back wing

Wing and Door not socially distanced

The hood in more or less the right place, albeit ruined

Tucked it in for the ride home

Maybe I should avoid pedestrians

The bright side is no one was injured, and the Jaguar did its job well in protecting whoever was in the car. Wonder if the airbag worked - it was not a head on impact, but close enough and the airbag sensors would have been disturbed - there is one on the corner. Looks like the left fender was ripped apart. The front grille, bumper chrome, and maybe the radiator, aircon condensor, the airbox, and the relay cluster near the headlight also need inspection for hidden damage.

OUCH.

I reckon that could polish out, just kidding of course.

I doubt its structural also, too high up.

Also glad EVEY human is OK, that it the main thing.

Sorry to see this, Nobeel.

Jaguars and Vee Dubs are not known to get along well. Seems like Jaguar won this fight, but at a cost. Glad the peoples are unhurt.

Depending on who will pick up the tab, perhaps a decent settlement will allow you to simply buy another good condition X300. This as an alternative to fiddling with many little parts to bring her anywhere back near original.

Many details to be worked out with time, and they will.

So sorry, Nobeel, but I'm also thankful that neither your wife nor the other driver were injured.

Coincidentally, a friend's '99 XK8 was just damaged in a very similar fashion, and his insurance company totalled it. I think they gave him the option to buy the car back for $2,000.00, but he has several other project cars in the works and decided he couldn't focus on another one. We'll look forward to your decision.

Cheers,

Don
