Default Boot release button

As the temps are dropping here in Michigan, my trunk release button is getting frozen and sticks. Can I spray some lube in there? Or will that damage any electrical stuff?

You will not damage anything electrical. The only component is a microswitch behind the button but the spray won't reach it as it is completely shrounded by the button itself and also has a moisture and dust boot protecting it.
