Default BPM (Body Processor Module) - constant current draw?

I'm having a constant 1A draw, making me go through batteries...

I'm pulling fuses with a Ammeter on the battery, pulling the #5 fuse in the trunk fuse box drops the current draw.
The electridal guide says it's the BPM. Is it normal it's drawing current even with the ignition switched off? And if so, how much?

Much obliged to whomever that can give me some info here... !

It seems that 29 mA is the nominal value.
I'll check the ignition switch as well...

The BPM is direct wired to the battery through the fuse # 5

The Security Locking Control Module is also directly wired

This SLCU is the source of a thing called parasitic drain when the car does not go to sleep after a countdown and check that is has agreements of certain things

One of them is the linier in / out removal of your key triggering a making of pin 4 to pin 5 of the ignition switch that can get stuck and freed up with cleaner and lube in different ways

After the SLCU sees pin 4 to 5 on the ignition switch it will retract and raise the steering column to exit the vehicle if the mode is selected on the steering column

Once the steering column through its position sensors has reached the exit position the SLCU has an agreement that it has satisficed that step or area of concern and the SLCU can look at other things before going to sleep

This retraction and raising of the column can bind and never reach the exit position seen by the sensors

This going to sleep takes some time so you will see a larger current draw before a small current draw during the sleep mode

You can deselect this automatic steering column mode eliminating this as a fault

There are ways of freeing up the steering column to get that feature back

Thanks for your detailed answer.

If I understand correctly:
If the linear portion of the ignition barrel wouldn't work correctly, I also wouldn't be able to lock the car using the key fob. Is that correct? The fob works just fine, so I can eliminate a non wirking switch on the ignition barrel?

Is the module with ID
LNA2500BB/010
replaceable by the module with ID
LNA2500BB/004?

So my car's got the /010 BPM, can I try with the /004 that I got from a donor car?

My car's BPM:
010 => A whole list of countries, almost all of them outside Europe.

Original BPM

Donor car BPM:
004 => Belgium / The Netherlands

Donor BPM
