I believe along with my mechanic think we have a bad BPU in my 97 x300 xj6 US model.. there are some on Ebay but what I don't know is if a module from a UK or other country car will work in a US car.
If I knew how to program the thing I'd give it a try but have no docs on any of that... I've been told to look for a model sheet or some such in the trunk but my car does not have any spec sheet in the trunk.

Any help would be appreciated although I realize this is pretty obscure..

I don't think you are going to be that lucky. JEPC (Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalogue) shows P/N LNA2500BB007 for USA specification vehicles and LNA2500BB010 for UK specification.





I've only expanded those two listings in the above screenshot. Almost every other country has a market-specific module listed.

Thank you for your reply. It pretty much confirms what I thought. I may have to try one of the AA models as I haven't found a BB model from a US Car. Either that or find some info on programming the one I've got. Spent 30 years in IT and it looks like a standard 25 pin serial interface (haven't counted the pins yet)....
