a/c center vents repair
the vertical adjustment clips were broken, and the long horizontal one ,i popped off trying to repair the vertical one.i ordered a left side air vent for 8 dollars and removed the horizontal 6 vane clip for my donor part,i clipped off two of the vane clips for a perfect fit for the center verticals.i used hemostat locking clamps in order to work the clip into place, also used a piece of cut wire hanger as a tool...patience,patience.eventually i pulled the clip into place as i alsp put pressure on the vane so it would stay in place.same method was used to reinstall the long horizontal clip..hope this helps somebody..
donor side vent used hemostat clamp to push off gently
operating room tools
cut to 4 vent size for center vertical movement, use hemostat clamp to pull into place once aligned
eventually aligned and pulled into place
a dab of 3M onto all moving contacts for smooth feel, that is the wire coat hanger piece

I used to collect all the broken vents from other mechanics at The Jag dealer 15 years ago and make as many as I could into usable units. I sold them on eBay for $100 each including shipping.
They are kinda fragile and the NEW ones are EXPENSIVE. The hardest thing is getting to the harness connector plug.
Hemostats are your friend.
