Call me stupid
I can't find the spark plugs in my 95 xj6. I did get the starter changed with some great advice in my other post. So anyway it turns over and I got a slight fire like it wanted to start then nothing. I get a little bit of a gas smell but it won't start. The car has sat for 8 months so I put some heet and some stabil in the tank along with a gallon of gas. I took the chrome cover off the side of the engine and there is the exhaust manifolds but I don't see any spark plugs same thing when I look under the fuel injection rail.Maybe i been with Chevies to much and I feel like a fish out of the water. I am also to cheap to buy a service manual so here I am asking you guys where the freakin plugs are. I really need to get this car started so I don't have to hear from my wife the ( I told you so). This is my first jag and even though I am having problems I am still having fun. Thanks Rick
may be flooded.. rare but happens.. change the oil .. and three torqs on top of the engine to get cover off.. then there are 6 coils.. remove all 12.. 8 mm bolts.. then remove coils then plugs..
Thanks for the info. I found them and I will replacethem. When I checked the spark it seemed to weak and the gap was only 25 thousanths. They haven't been replaced in a while. Thanks again Rick

Another thing u might check....the battery. A few months ago my car would crank and crank and crank...till the battery would die...then i'd recharge it and try more. I tested the plugs...had spark...checked fuel flow after the fuel filter....that was good. I finally gave up and had it towed to the dealer.....they threw in a new battery...and it fired right up. The old battery was cranking and cranking the car so I never thought it was the problem...but apparently it was......wierd!!!
