Can not read Codes
my mechanic is a good friend of mine who runs an auto repair shop.
He has the latest is diagnostic equipment(Genisys Evo purchased this spring).
For some reason his unit will not sync with my 95 xjr.
any thoughts?

Seems odd. I'm a million miles away from being an authority on the latest and greatest scan tools but I can't imagine anything about the XJR's configuration that would be a problem.
On my XJR I use a garden variety, entry-level OBDII scan tool (Innova 3130) with good results
Sorry I don't have a good answer. Others will chime in.

It appears i am the fool. the car was in security mode. A couple turns of the key in the drivers door and it fired up. i haven't tried reading the codes yet, but i am sure that was the problem.
