Default Centre consol switch lighting

Hi

My HRW and A/C switch lights and more annoyingly, the temperature readout backlights have expired and now it's dark in the mornings and evenings going to and from work, I want to fix them. I use my car daily.

Does anyone know what type of bulb(s) I need to buy so I have them to hand? This will save me having to dismantling the whole lot twice in freezing conditions.........

Cheers

Glen.

OK, so I have removed the bulbs and they look like this.

Can anyone help with a source? EBay has been no help.

Cheers

There is a lot of information in the 'how to' guides listed in the sticky threads at the top of the home page.
See https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...dimming-38712/
for an example.

I have fixed my clock display and changed all bulbs to LED's - quite easy once you remove the consol.
If you search for neo-wedge bulbs the larger Jag ones are T4 but the smaller are not T3 they are more like T3.5!

If you don't mind fiddly work then the original blown bulb can be removed from the plastic holder and replaced by a 3W grain of rice/wheat bulb (available very cheap in multi packs!).

Hope this helps!

Brilliant stuff, many thanks.

Do I assume you have also got a Honda CBX? Me too, 1978 Z totally in bits right now. (apologies for the thread drift)

I used to have a red '78 CBX-Z (owned for 7 years) before some lowlife b*****ds spirited it away - it was last seen lying on a trailer being towed by a Landrover but no one got the registration number.

I did do a full rebuild on it (cam chains, tensioners, valves and ported head). Lockeed front brakes, Metmachex swingarm and custom 6-2 exhaust.

I did think about buying another but just couldn't face it, so bought a CB1300S instead (that was 11 years ago) and I still have that!!

Cheers,
Wayne

Well, a fellow member of the JEC has donated a load of surplus bulbs to me and now everything works. What a hero.

For reference the brown bodied bulbs are part number JLM11965.
