Default Cigarette Lighter Has No Power

I'm not getting any power from either front or rear cigarette lighter sockets. I checked the connection at the plug and I get nothing. Is there a fuse or relay that controls power to this circuit and where is it located? I checked both underhood fuse boxes and the trunk fuse box and all seem to be good. Any ideas?

You need an Electrical Guide for the car!!

Diagnosis without one is going to be a long process.

I would post it as an attachment but it is over 20MB.

Gus should have it on his site for download.

I think the fuse is in one of the heelboard fuse boxes (I can't remember).

I briefly looked thru some of the wiring diagrams but didn't have the time to follow thru to the circuits. It wasn't a major necessity so it was easier just asking here. Why didn't Jaguar label the fuse box covers with fuse locations? Would have made things easier as many of us no longer have the factory owners manuals.

The fuse diagram is in the handbook as well as on the inside front cover of the tool box. If I remember correctly, fuse for the cigarette lighter is 25A numbered #5 in the fuse box of the luggage compartment, i.e. next to the car battery. Even if the fuse looks good, replace anyway for certainty. If it does not sort your problem, I would look for loose wires or poor contact in the plugs themselves, especially the one in the front astry, because it is the one most often disturbed when removing the central console to work on the radio, heater control, clock, etc.
